    Ted,

What is that 'spring thing' on the firewall next to the manual brake master cylinder??

Yeah, and sitting at $10,600. We will see what kind of flurry hits in a few hours.

Had I laid off chasing women for the last 12 months I would easily have enough money to bring this one home.....

that got me thinking, so I went back to the archives: (most all road tests from Car Life Magazine, who seemed to use pretty similar methodology across all tests, some motor trend and a couple unk.)

    1964 Wildcat - 425 Dual Quad, 4 spd, 3.91 - 16.0@87
    1964 Wildcat - 401(325), Auto, 2.78 - 16.4@83
    1966 Galaxy - 7 litre (428)3.25, Auto - 16.4@ 89
    1964 Marauder-- 427DQ, 4 spd, 4.11 - 15.1@87
    1964 Marauder - 406, auto, 3.56 - 16.1@85
    1966 Marauder - 428, auto, 3.25 - 16.9@85
    1967 SS427 - 427(385), auto, 3.07 - 15.75@86
    1965 Monaco - 413, auto, 3.23 - 17.9@78
    1964 Polara - 426, auto, 3.23 - 15.9@92
    1964 Starfire - 394, auto,3.42 - 17.3@79

So all in all, looks like a properly equipped Wildcat was a pretty even match for anything short of a factory drag car...I knew I liked Nailheads!

And with 19 minutes left, we're at 15,400

With 3 seconds left, it went from 16k to 20k. I can only hope the bidding is as active at the last minute on my 54 on Monday night

Good Luck! I have a feeling that one of our German friends has made the high bid.

    Congrats to the winner!

Yes my Buddy bought it. Now he has another "shelf" He already has 20 cars where he puts stuff on an never drives them. I'm gonna kick his ass that this time this doesn't happen again! I wish I had found it, but he was first, and this is a rule that u don't buy stuff u'r buddy has found. On the other hand, he really loves his cars and is a great guy. But just tooooo many things he wants to do. 2 triple black Superwildcats 4 speed in one small german town is pretty crazy.

I think the car would have been in better hands with Ted. I thought that there is no other out there. But they made 85. So the next one is waiting to be found. When I see one. I hand it to Ted.

Ted, do u get my emails? Or do they land in the spam? Are u comin' over in September?

    Cheers.

Why? Why? didn't that car go up to 80k?

Why do people in the states and over here buy Mustangs and other bull**** for even more, and the coolest car ever is not noticed? I do not get it.

When I asked the owner of my Supercat why he bought a triple black 4 Speed Superwildcat new in 65, he answered:

"Cause I thought it was the meanest thing around!"

    He was sooo right!

    100% agree!
Good thing is, that these cars are still affordable for the average guy (f.e. that olds tri power you told me about). Let them spend their money on Slowstangs. We know that our cars are way cooler!

The nice thing is that every now and again you can surprise and absolutely humiliate Mustang drivers. This miserable kid in a Rustang passed me in my Wildcat convertible on the highway the other day and cut me off. So I pushed him a bit, he dropped a gear to try and get away, and then I pulled up alongside him, we were both doing about 120 km/h. I made a big production about looking at my speedometer and nodding appreciatively. Then I waved to him and lowered the hammer. I heard his car rev up as it disappeared in my rearview mirror.

    He never stood a chance.
