any thoughts on this rig? I can’t find a comparison sale but 30k might be a little high for market. Dual quad helps. Might go take a look if there aren’t too many red flags. <http://www.premium-motors.com/mobile/item.php?id=1572> Thanks for any intel.
Great looking car but price is high. For $30k I would expect a detailed undercarriage, but maybe it will clean up easily? Transmission and rear look oil soaked, may need attention. Suspension bushings are rusty, might be originals that need replacement? Paint and body look fantastic in the small pics. Can't tell if the chrome is great or just good. Post car door panels aren't repo'd, so nice originals are a bonus. VIN says it was built in California, usually a good sign it's had a dry life. Heater hose routing isn't correct, you can get Corvette repo hoses that are close to original. Paint overspray on bottom of car looks original (it's on floor, not on frame). Looks like painter missed the bottom edge of the rocker panels! Trunk paint looks original. Here's a recent sale on eBay that went for $22.6k. Seems comparable, but it's a stick car, and engine compartment hasn't been detailed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Buick...vip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l44720 I'm thinking low to mid 20's, but that's without seeing good pics. It needs to be inspected in person. IMO, It still need work to be worth the asking price.
I have seen the car numerous times at shows, and I looked at it several years (owners) ago for another board member. Walt's assessment on price seems pretty good, based on what I recall of it. The last owner (Larry, I think?) did quite a bit of work to it and added the dual quads and the power steering. He owned it for a couple of years. Not sure if he sold/traded it in here, or if he has it on consignment.
