Been for sale a long time. Looks nice and the V6 - 3Sp is certainly unique! The original owner must have been an economy freak, manual trannies were supposed to get much better mileage.
Thats a 65 Special hence the small tail lights, Special Deluxe would have a cast molding between the tail lights and the tail lights would have a molding cast on the outside to meet up with the molding. Skylarks have the long tail lights you are thinking of. Also it has a Skylark dash and door panels guessing that was all he could find as Special panels are not being reproduced. Nice looking car, but not correct from a trim or interior standpoint.
Now that you mention it's a Special, reminds me looking at ordering a new one back then, and carpeting was an option. Standard was rubber. Probably heaters were an option too. So you could get a base V6 pretty cheap.
I keep thinking someone would look at this and post the information here, but not happening. I think I have seen this car for sale in the past with more pictures. I believe the taillight bezels, grille and headlight doors are painted. I think that was easier to see in the old for sale ad from a while ago. If so it means the 35G's spent on the "Restoration" is probably a stretch. Maybe Rogbo will go check it out and give us the straight story.
