I decided it's time to get another 1965 GS !!!!

I'm looking for a 1965 Buick Skylark GS... Auto or 4 Speed, but MUST have factory A/C....

    Something in the $10 - $20 K range...

*** Preferably, I'd like to buy it from a fellow (trustworthy) board member, rather than from someone I don't "know"....

Please send me an email with the details, or post it here...

    Lemme know! THANKS

    ...well, MAYBE!

Hello Dan. . heres the story. . .a local Guy, who's basically into Rivi's, began the resto of a 65 Lark GS for his son, some 15 years ago. Minor appearing bodywork was performed. The car was painted, Blue with black buckets interior. Some chrome was replated. .and put away. I went too look at it in feb '05. Dirty. Dusty. An honest disgrace to know what it WOULDA looked like IF only he had finished it. Anyway, I believe it is an A/C car and originally from Florida. At the time, he had WAY OVER $5K invested.. original 401, auto, console with tach!. .brakes, paint, etc. . .He was asking $6000. ..I passed on the car ONLY BECAUSE I never saw the parts he had put away somewhere to complete the project, . .seems he couldn't find the bumpers, grille, door panels, mirrors, and I can't remember what else. . Other'n that, I thought it would have been a pretty sweeet deal.
I believe he still has this car . . .would you be interested enuf for me to try to hook up with the guy and take some pix??? :TU: Wheelz, Tampa :bglasses: Bay

It's a project but it's also under your price range at $8,000 if you're interested.

Oh do tell more. A buddy of mine and I are interested in this. We really want to know how much of a project it is, body work specifically. He can paint, I can do interior work and drivetrain work, but niether of us can do any sort of serious rust repaire beyond maybe welding in new pans. Pictures would also be kick-awesome aswell.

    Thanks,

Jon (Starchboy), don't worry if you are interested, I play fair and you can claim dibs since it is your thread :beer . I've just been having a hankering recently for a 4spd 64-67 A-body Buick and this one sounds kick awesome and my buddy loves convertables, Big Blocks, and 4-spds so we are both interested in knowing how much work it is, as I am sure you are aswell.

    Project

Oh it's a project alright...may not be the car for you cuz it needs plenty of body work but the upside is that I have a lot of the difficult to find and expensive sheet metal like convertible quarters (no I won't sell them separately) and fenders and wheel wells blasted and primed and ready to go.

I have a buddy who's a body work wizard and a Buick fanatic and if I can't get $8K we'll just pick at it but with all the other projects I have, it'll probably take another 3 years.

Bear in mind when you look at the pictures that it's a patchwork of GS and Skylark parts but I have the original GS fenders, core support, door and grill for verification and the factory four speed floor stamping is there. It's sitting on an open frame but the boxed frame is sitting nearby in so so shape.

I'd really like a 4 speed hardtop so I'm open to trades. Car is in New Hampshire.
