im painting a 65 300 and im looking for the number for the correct paint to do it. i cant find it anywhere. i would prefer Dupli-Color or VHT. as long as it is the stock color and high heat. if anyone knows the number, PLEASE let me know. thanks everyone!!!!!

You can try checking a local body shop. Preferably one that has been in business for a long time. They often keep their old paint code books and they may possibly have a code for the engine color. OPG offers the fugly green color for 64-67 buicks in spray cans. I recently rebuilt a 300 and couldnt bring myself to paint it that hideous color. Went with classic black instead. Good Luck. STeve

Hirsch and CARS both sell the correct enamel in spray or brush, and it's excellent paint.

POR-15 carries Buick green in brush-on.
'Detriot Diesel Green' is avail in spray cans from local auto stores. It's very close to the Buick green, if not a dead ringer.

No no no, wait till someone on here gives you the correct code or paint #. There is already one orange Buick 350 so lets not have the same type thing happen again. No offence Mart, your engine is very nice just a little off on the color.

i aint worried about it. the 65 skylark is just a project till i get my 67 wagon on the road. im just doing this one first cause it is the lesser of 2 evils. ill drive it till the wagons done then its gone!!!!!!!
