Hi, I recently bought a 1965 Sportwagon with a worn out 300-4bbl engine (code LP - high comp.). I'm planning to overhaul the engine and have already disassembled the engine. Parts of two rod bearings where found in the oilpan, so the crankshaft has to be regrinded. Main bearing journals at 0.020" undersize and rod bearing journals at 0.030" (maybe 0.040) undersize.
My colleague at work is going to regrind the crankshaft, but we don't know all the specifications.

Here is my question: can anyone tell me what the tolerances are on the main diameter 2.4995" and the crankpin diameter 2.0000" (diameters out of the service manual). I also need to know what size the fillet radii are.

    Thanks

I'd start by getting the bearings and grind the journals to match. I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure the tolerences are something like +0 -0.0002. I'm not sure what the radius is. I'll drag out my crank tonight and measureā€¦ Wait, mine is in the shop for machining on the block and blueprinting. Anybody else?

That's a hot Riv. It's got to be pretty tough coming up with a Dutch Buick! Way to go.

Thanks, I think I'll get the bearings first. I found some more info on the internet that say -0.0005 tolerance up to 1.5 diameter and -0.001 ???? over 1.5 diameter. Seems a lot to me. Anybody more info ?????
