Hi i have the wiring harness out of my car(main one) and am trying to put up the rear window on my wagon,i have the harness at back with three wires, a grey, red and yellow wire, which ones do i jump to get the window to move :Do No: ,it looks like the ground is on the window motor so i dont think one of the three wires is a ground :Do No: .I cant find my 64 manual to reference any diagrams. Thanks...Darren

my guess would be that the red is constant power (a test light could confirm this) and jumping it to one of the wires will move the window one direction and jumping it to the other wire will move the window the other direction ... dont use a wimpy jumper wire your you could get a burned finger/car/garage/house out of the deal.

OR ....if you have a 20 amp battery charger, you could clamp the ground on the car frame and touch the other clamp to either the yellow, grey, or (i dont think this wire goes to the motor) red wire.
    keep us posted ..

generally those motors were wound to run both directions. the motor runs by getting power to one of the terminals while the motor gets its ground though its mounting .... there ususally isnt a ground "wire" in the process ..

Thanks Yuk,Just by looking thru the gate i see a black wire running from the motor to the side of the gate, maybe just to ground the assembly in there?,i will give your suggestions a try when i get up tomorrow and let you know how i make out,thanks...Darren
