    Hi,

I am finishing up the rebuild of my 300. The motor mounts are bad.

I have ordered a set from eBay, they didn't fit. I went to OPGI and they were trying to sell me the same mounts. They said 64-67 are the same, they are not.

Any suggestions? I was told that the engine stands from a 65- would work with the 65- motor mounts.

They made different motor mounts in 64? That is what I read here and was told by another informed Buick member.

Thanks for the help, I really want to get this on the road!

    Best,

    Kendall

64 mounts are 64 only. They are not available from normal sources. I know of 3 options.
    1. Change the metal stands on the frame to 65 stands, then buy 65 mounts, they will bolt to your engine. This means you will be able to replace them anytime as they are available.
    2. Steele Rubber Products will revucalinize your ORIGINAL mounts, send them and allow 3 weeks turn around time, cost $54.50 each plus shipping. 800-544-8665
    3. Contact Mark Polastry in Texas, 512-303-0833, he has good used 64 mounts he can sell you. He has a machine in case you call and he is not home. He will call you back, he is a great guy, totally honest, and knows these Buicks.

    Good luck,
    Mike

I have an extra set of the metal stands for a 65 Skylark. They are the parts that go on the frame itself. I don't think that I have any motor mounts there but who knows.

Yep, do the complete 65 conversion. Simpler to come up with a motor mount in the future and the 65 is bigger ( a little ).

if one of your mouints is still good use it on the drivers side and bolt your bad one together with a gr 8 bolt and nut and use the repaired one on the pass side

    Both mounts are bad unfortunately.

I have this same problem. Took the motor out of my care, not knowing that the existing broken motor mounts were also the WRONG ones, I now find, as I'm going back in with the motor, that the set given to me (which matched the broken set) are of course also wrong.

So I'm sitting here with a 1964 Buick Special with the 300ci V8 ready to bolt back up, but I can't because I have no good motor mounts and apparently no way to get the right ones! HELP...I need to start this car soon...I don't need this new engine sitting here going bad waiting on new parts.

These other threads mention upgrading to the 65 stands, then buying 65 mounts, but I'm not finding a source for the 65 stands OR Mounts....help!

    Thanks,
    Greg
