1964 riv motor

  1. i recently took out of a 64 riv a dual quad motor
    but when looking for the lx and numbers
    nothing it there
    the motor is not marked in any way except the casting numbers?
    whats up with this do you think
    factory replacement motor?
    its not ground off at all as well?
    any info

    Greg,

    An original 1964 Riviera with the Dual Quads engine should have the KX engine code, not the 1965 LX engine code.

    Greg,
    Could very well be a replacement block. If it was a GM warranty replacement engine block, the VIN or engine code would not have been transfered to the new engine. If it was replaced with a used engine, the engine would have the code and VIN for the previous vehicle. Where are you still finding Super Wildcats out there, I thought they all got sold on ebay!? LOL!!

  4. no numbers at all or lettering
    and best of all
    when i took the heads off
    the motor turnd over
    this is the second one i got and took the head soff and the crank and pictons turn
