Think I found a rare bird, where can I find production numbers for 1964, specifically for the Wildcat. I have been searching for databases all day and have not found exactly what I need. Can anyone shed some light??
That web site says: Wildcat Production 17,519 o No: "Standard catalog of Buick" says this for the modelyear 1964 Wildcat production total: 4 drs sedan = 20 144 4 drs HT = 33 358 2 drs sport coupe = 22 893 Convertible = 7 850 "Encyclopedia for American" cars says the same, and so does "THE BUICK, a complete history"
Well, I don't think that site was online since a few months into the 1964 model year......:laugh: :laugh: So no update, just getting the facts right the first time....:Smarty:
I checked 3 books, they all came out with the same figures and this website is telling something different ? says: WILDCAT SERIES Model 4639-Four-Door Hardtop..................................17,519 Model 4647-Two-Door Sportcoupe................................12,185 Model 4667-Two-Door Convertible................................7,850 Model 4669-Four-Door Sedan....................................20,144 That Supercars.com website in the first link was saying 17,519 and that's the same number as above (Buicks.Net) for the 4 drs HT. Contact the Sloan Museum and ask for the "Daily Car Reports" on the body style (number) that you are looking for. I am not sure if they have info on '64 cars but it would be your best chance at finding correct information... :beer

I just got an official response from the Buick Customer center, and here is what they said on the 1964 Wildcat Production Nos. 33,358 of the 4639 series 22,893 of the 4647 series 7850 of the 4667 series 20,144 of the 4669 series for a total prod run of 84,245 in 1964.
See, that's why I don't trust web sites........just gimme a few good old books to compare. The figures from the BCC are exactly the same as the ones from my books....:Smarty:
