I Have The Rear End Apart On My 64 Wildcat. Does Anyone Know The Bearing #'s For The Carier And The Axles.. Also Where Can I Get Them? Have One Carier Bearing Out Race # Lookes Like 25520 Hyatt. Bearing # Is Worn Off
Ok These are for the 63-64 Buick full size...the 65-67 are the same seal and bearing also...68-69 they changed them. axle seal is 51098 timkin axle bearing is 514003 timkin differential carrier bearings 1963-1965 : 25584 cone or bearing timkin 25520 cup or race timkin In 1966 they had a first design and they used the A36 set same as a 12 bolt chevy c-clip rear
Do You Sell These Bearings? I Think The 25584 Has A T After It Meaning Tapered The Way It Mounts It Looks Like It Need To Be Tapered?
Also May Need A Set Of Axles For Same Rear End Let Me Know Price? Really Only Need Left But I Guess I Should Replce Both
Wow axles...That I can not help you with... I can even say I have ever did work on one of these rears yet. I will check and see if the bearings are still available from my supplier or if there is a cross reference. Jim
yes i see it's not listed on your web site// do you know the tolerences of the clutches in this rear/ they look pretty good but wonder if there was a thickness. all steel not clutch material like i thought
If you have an axke you can stick the axle in a vise with the spline sticking up out of the jaws about 3-4 inches clamped and then take the posi carrier and pop it ontop the axle spline . Next take another axle and stick it in the top of the axle access of the carrier. Now take a pipe wrench on the shaft of the top axle shaft and see how hard it is to spin the unit. If you can not your unit is pretty good...OR if your jaws can not hold the axle shaft you have clamp as your tryng to spin the top axle. If it spins very freely then it needs service. This is just a back yard way to tell if it is generally good or in need of service. Ok? Jim If you have the unit torn apart...clean all the clutches and look for scard or burn clutch plats ...That will give a sign of the life the unit lead. Jim
