I plan to replace my OE timing chain this winter and was wondering if there is any benefit to advance the cam timing while doing so? The engine has 106,000 miles but is in good condition. The carb is 750 cfm. Ignition is stock but I would recurve the distributor. The cam is the original 401 cam AFAIK. Is there any power to be gained by advancing the cam timing by up to 4 degrees?

only if you want more bottom end power and less top end. the nail heads always seem to have enough bottom end with the stock cam. also the motor might want to ping or knock more with a advance cam.
