Need to know if there is demand for this motor and trans before I take my buick under the knife and scrapping them to put a newly built ls1 motor with 6sp t56. I will be removing the 300 and st-300 auto trans in about 1-2 months from now problem is that I cant hang on to it due to storage reasons. I wrote up in the parts section but of course Im not looking to selling it until I remove it so I moved it here. Just pm if interested in it and once its removed I can put the post up in for sale section for more exposure and with a price. Buick 300 98k last odometer reading before dash was hacked apart and sat for 5yrs after. Comes with original air cleaner"Wildcat 310" 2barrel/ Ac compressor and accessories/bracket/stock exhaust manifolds/new water pump/plugs/wires/pertronix ignition runs good. Added new fuel filter/fuel and started right up.Will include radiator/brake booster/master cylinder pretty much everything in engine compartment will take pictures for interested parties just pm me ST-300 Shifts fine, given its age might need a rebuild or not but I havent had any issues thus far drove fine a week ago when I started her up and took her for a ride. Again I much rather sell it to interested Buick owners vs. scrapping them at a junk yard. I can ship them to the lower 48 if needed Im in California but PM me for those of you who are interested and once its pulled I can move this thread to parts section with price or maybe even best offer. I hope I am in good standing with the moderators on this post, if this isnt right section please inform me. Thanks:beer
depending on where you are in california, Mike from Buick Bonery in Sacramento may be interested... his number is (916)599-3934
Tourque converter is desirable(to Jim who runs the board),Trans...not so much.Heads & intake are also...i still dont know why.I had an aluminum 300 & it ran same as the cast iron 300 & i got better service from the cast. Some people just orgasm at aluminum parts for these motors for some reasonp My opinion,$350 heads/intake...converter $100...just my opinion,i'm not shopping or sellingp
Anyone know for sure if a 64 ST 300 has the VP trans? I have always heard it was 65-67 only, but I know the tech existed earlier, since the dynoflow trans had a smiliar system. I have not seen a 64 ST 300 trans to know for sure.. Love to have the converter, if it is a Variable Pitch unit. There is a Id guide on the board, as a sticky in the "juice box" forum. Jw
Jim, you just rebuilt one for me ...:kodak: at my face for me knowing something about these that you didn't
I have the body tag I can grab it if someone needs it, I could have sworn when I identified the tag way back when it has a st300
funny thing is it's hard to sell the complete engine but its easy to get cash out of the heads and 4v intake ...both items sold for more then selling the engine completeou:
well both of the '68 skylarks I've owned had ST300's that were NOT VP... makes me wonder about the '64's
