I'm pretty sure mine is a'65 (cast iron block & intake ) . But i was trying to sneek into a show where the cut off is 1964 ( Billitproof ). They let me in , but it wasn't easy. Looking at the pics on here i can't tell one from the other. So can someone tell me? Thank You ... Hal
Tri-shield logo in different place. (Re: 1964 ? 1965 ? Sportwagon) Hi Hal and V-8 Buick wagon fans, Glad to hear of another 1965 wagon that has a nice home! :TU: I don't know of all the differences, but one that is fairly distinctive is the tri-shield logo is in the grill on the 64 while a 65 as a tri-shield logo on the hood just above the word: "BUICK." I assume there are others, but that one is hard to miss. Cheers, Edouard :beer
Hal, My understanding on 64-65 Sportwagons is they each carry the grill, fenders, and front bumper from their respective year of Skylark. And the side molding from 64 Skylark/Sportwagon carried over to 65 Sportwagon. 65 grills moved the Tri Shield emblem to the hood. Not sure about interior, but I think they are year specific. Hopefully this helps a little, for me the quickest way to spot 64 or 65 grill, the 64 is higher at headlight bezels, and 65's are lower at bezels. The emblem didn't come in center of grill on Specials in 64, so you can't always go by the emblem.
Well thank you guys .... looks to me like if these guyes at the gate arn't really into buicks i shouldn't have a real problem. Billetproof is my all time favorite show ( not aware of any buick shows around here ) If ya havn't made a Billitproof show ..... try it , those folks are out there . And thanks again for the info ..... Hal
