    Hi

Several months ago I picked up a '63 Electra in pretty nice shape. I'll be going through brakes, cooling system, etc. to assure it's road worthy. The radiator is a downflow variety (I believe). It looks fine from the outside and on the one 20 minute highway trip I took in it, it seemed to work just fine- no leaks, no overheating. I believe the car had been sitting for some time in enclosed storage before I bought it. I also do not know maintenance history on the car (like, if the radiator was ever replaced). As recore shops around her are becoming scarce and I don't want to throw money at something that isn't a problem, I'm looking for alternatives.

How would I go about testing it? I was thinking of flushing the system and then pressure testing it. Anything else I should do?

Have a shop tank it, flush it and pressure test it.

Add to that a "Flow" test.

Works been crazy, I've been trying to find a moment to give you a call to see what radiator shop you use that you trust. I'll try today, otherwise do you mind if I give you a call at home? Not too late in the evening.....

    Thanks!
