Red/black interior/black top. California built.. Decent red paint, originally white, no rust , nice top , original interior. Runs /drive well.. turbo works, 4-speed shifts well. Turbo spyder's are kinda rare by survival. This car belongs to a good friend who can no longer drive it.. ' I'm asking $12,500.. I (as usual) have problems posting pictures.. ' I can send /text any interested buyers photos , The car is at my shop (860) 354-4461. Many thanks to v8 Buick for the ad. Best Regards.... Frank
Thank you Dano.... I appreciate this very much .. I 'll get better photos (outside) after I wash the car....... Regards....... Frank
The car is a 1963...... You are correct the front panel trim is from a 1964.. (very good eye ) .. The hubcaps are also late 1963 -1964 as well. I do not know why the previous owner replaced the emblem. This car shows no sign of rust or collision damage .. The build date is late December 1962.. Regards. Frank
...IIRC, '63 Monzas had another piece of trim on front panel in upper right corner, held on by speed nuts, which meant holes that would have needed to be filled...
John is correct ........ The 1964 trim piece is readily available (repro) the 1963 is not.. Should I find a quality used or nos piece , I would gladly replace it.. It appears the former (not currant ) owner looked for the correct piece unsuccessfully , before settling for the easily found 1964 piece.. Honestly.. Corvair Spyder's are probably the most underrated and affordable G.M cars left! Thank you for the comments and information.. Regards..... Frank
More Photo's .. I just wanted to see if I could do it...... (I did have help) Thank's for looking..... I'm probably going to put it on Hemming's Auction site ...... No reserve! It really is a cute good running car..... The tag also verifies the turbo option (I wish Corvettes were as easy to verify) as well as it's California build. It was originally white. Regards. Frank
This car will have a new owner tomorrow .. It's met reserve (I set a very low reserve) Hemming's auction. This is not about the car.. as you know I'm selling it for a friend... Dennis is now at hospice . He totally loved his Corvair! He had one when he was a kid and loved it.. He used it as often as he could, made many new friends, joined the club, became an active member.. He enjoyed his car. Hopefully it will make memories for the new owner as well.. All I want to say is ... drive your cars as long as you can..enjoy your new found friends, make memories ! Your car will probably out last you.. Do not let the next guy have all the fun! Sorry about the rant..... Frank
