Not to familure with 61's but what is that 3 or 4 inch black flex hose running from what looks like the front bumper under the AC compressor? Theres no pic of the drivers side.
Could it be a home made cooling duct?
Never knew to just how nice 61's were, elegant but clean and simple..

Looks like some kind of home made ducting, none of the 61's I have owned ever had that.

The Invicta used to be Wolford's, a long time ago. :>)

Brian L. looked at it about 30 years ago when he owned it, before they even knew each other.

Can you guys educate me a bit on the '61 Buick's?

Are the Electra's the only one that came with four port holes? This page doesn't have a picture.

What are the major differences between the Lesabre, Invicta, and Electra?

In 1961, only the Electra and Electra 225's came with 4 venti ports. LeSabre and Invicta had 3.

LeSabre and Invicta's had a 123 inch wheel base and were about 213 inches long. The Electra was built on the 126 wheel base and was 219 inches long.

LeSabre's came with a 364 engine, 2 barrel standard, 4 barrel optional. Invicta and Electra came with 401's.

LeSabre was the base model, Invicta the "sporty" model (smaller car with the bigger engine) and Electra was the luxury model.

Visually, the Electra hardtop roofline differs from that of the LeSabre and Invicta, and has a sharper angle in the quarter windows, and less of a "bubbletop".

Not sure why it posted two pics of Roy's LeSabre, guess it just liked it better than my Electra, lol.

I like them both. I like the roofline and curve of the LeSabre/Invicta, but I'd go with the bigger Electra I think if there were two cars of the exact same quality and style in front of me. But it's like 50.1/49.9.....

I always thought I wanted an Invicta, that is until I saw the Electra that started this thread.
I just know it has to be a '61 to go with my '81 Regal, and the '71 GS that will be next.

Oh hey look a '65 Riveria.... I fall in love with just about every one of those I see too.
