Hi guys I'm getting ready the replace the flat glass on my 55 The passenger and drivers windows are cracked I have all the other glass as it was original to my car I'm wondering if anyone here has replaced their glass, seems like there are few companies to choose from I would like to just replace these two pieces but I'm wondering if it will match my 61 year old glass Should I replace it all , or does anyone here have some old glass they would part with Also looking for some door exterior door handles if my set but there very pitted Also looking for the front propellor the truck one while im at it some nos ports must be in tip top nice I know good luck but can't hurt to ask
It was over 40 years ago when, Dad had the front passenger window replaced. The glass shop measured and cut a piece to fit. On the door handles, have you tried Bob's Automobilia?
I've seen the propellers on E-bay. Maybe the door handles, too. The handles are specific. But the propeller is the same for all '55s
Last year I purchased a drivers side window for my Roadmaster from Vintage Glass. The fit was good, the edges sanded nicely, and the tint perfect. Tim
is your car original glass tinted? I'm not sure but my glass looks to be non tinted is this something that might have faded over time I want to keep as much of the original glass as possible but I'm concerned it wont match thanks Again guys my 55 is so close to being done I wont believe it till I'm driving her againray:
Mine has just a slight blue tint originally. Tint might have been an option on Super Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tinting was an option. It would be likely that a Super would have had tinted glass, but I'm not positive that it was an all-or-nothing deal. I recall (or think I recall) a tinted windshield only option.
