Hey Russ, I am thinking that engine for sale is a small chevy with the buick heads. I have never had my engine on the dyno but I am guessing the thing makes around 830 hp and if I were starting from scratch it would cost about $25,000 to duplicate what I have. The engine in that ad not only makes 850 hp but it has additional parts such as a sheet metal intake and a dry sump oiling system. So if it has all good parts in it then its not a bad deal. HP costs lotsa coin.... :3gears: Later
Hey John, guess I spoke too soon about the price.I have about 9 grand in my stocker motor ,about half of that in the "stock heads" ! The ad does say buick block though. Thanks."foot in mouth" Russ
Hey guys . off topic but there is a virus on the racing junk site . It starts on a mouse over for one of the ads around the fringe. I have emailed the administrator a couple of times about it but it still keps coming up every time I visit the site . Just run a virus check after you leave the site . I think its actually some spyware according to my real time checker. Be careful. George in DC
George, Thanks for letting us know about the virus!!! Russ, No foot in mouth... I think most of us do need a quick boot in the backside though  A few years ago before I purchased Frank Urbanati's engine, I decided to really figure out what it would cost to build the engine I had at that time. It was a mild 464 with flat tappet camshaft and T/A Stg 2 heads. After all of the costs I could think of where added up the grand total was around $14,000. I am sure there is was a more that I missed. Anyway its crazy what we spend on our hobbies.... I just hope my wife never finds out or this will happen :spank: Now that I went back and read it again I do see where he says Buick Block.... I will email him for details. Later
