No probs Steve. Like others have already mentioned, it's a beautiful car and I'm proud to feature it on BuickStreet.com. Now if I can find some more time to feature all the other cars that are waiting in the 'BuickStreet Parking Lot' I'll be even happier.
Interior and engine pics Finally got over to my friends house with the digital camera. Anyway, here are some pics of the engine and interior.
Steve, send the original (uncompressed and unreduced) images to bill@buickstreet.com and I'll include them in the feature. Also, I'm confused, the car looks black in the pics you sent me for the feature. Did you paint the car or is it the light? That's a lot of difference for the light to make. I'm stunned.
same car Bill - I sent you the pics in an email. Same car, it's just the light. At night it seems darker, kinda blackish, but it is royal maroon metallic. Thanks for your efforts.
Again, that is a stunning Buick! :TU: I want one. And believe me, I would leave the straight 8 in it! That paint color looks alot like the color paint that was on my '66 Riv. At least my monitor and my fond memories of that car tell me so. It looked black in certain lighting also.
Thanks Dale - Thanks for the kind words. Somehow they mean more coming from car people, especially Buick car people.
Re: Thanks Your welcome! I actually have been thinking of selling my '70 Riv and getting into a '49 through '55 Buick. A 70 series Roadmaster would be nice, but as far as paying the price for a decent one I guess I would settle for a Special. I get this "sell the Riv!" bug in me from time to time since there are soooo many cars I'd like to own! :beer
Steve , One fine example of Buick Quality ! My grandfather had a 49 , Still remember the car ,Fine cars !:TU: :TU:
WOW I am ultra impressed. One goal we now have in the BPG, and the upcoming BP Nationals, is to include early iron cars in the show. I absolutely LUV the 49 and 50's seen herein. Barry, PLEEEZZE post some full size pic's of your car. Steve, where in Fla are ya? Jim
Thanks for your comments Jim. Now that I've got a decent ignition system, thanks to Dave's great work, I am really enjoying cruising around on the odd dry day we have been getting. I had forgotten how much torque a good running 455 puts out so this old granddad has squealed a few tires in my enthusiasm with my new found power! You can see some pictures of the car at www.Buickstreet.com plus a short comment on how I got our Roadmonster.
Bruce and Shirley- Thanks for the kind words. You obviously know your cars!! Jim- I'm located in Dunedin, Florida. It is west of Tampa on the coast, between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs. Barry-That is one sweet ride, every time I look at a picture of it I can feel the rumble. :beer
