Torsdalen did you install lowering springs too? The stance on your '66 is :bglasses:

Have 17's on my '67. Rear wheel combination pretty much fills the wheel well with no rubbing. Be cautious with the lower front and wide front tire combo. I have travel issues with the wheels turned and have to be carefull pulling in and out of driveways.

The rear springs was already installed whwn i bought the engine, they may be the stock one or replacement springs.

I forgot to tell you I have a disc brake conversion and I think that pushes the front tires out 3/8 of an inch more than stock drums. I also have Eibach 1 in lowering springs. The fronts rubbed in a with the wheels straight!!!
I think 215 would work but close. I ended up buying Fatman tubular narrowed Arms and now I am going to see if I can fit the 17X8 wheels with 255/45/17 tires up front.

Mike, sure like that look. Looks sweet.
What tires did you go with ? Do you have air shocks in the rear ?

nexen n7000s, have 1 1/2" spacers under the springs, gonna take em out see if they rub, I have longer rear, if I had the stock rear wouldnt have and problem with em rubbing, its close now, if I could find a thicker axle c-clip to pull the axle in that would help.

What rear end are you using ? Is it wider than the standard 8.2 ?

its a 8.5, you know the rears are wider after I think its 67, I took the spring spacers out today, I have about about 1/2 inch clearance. so if you have the stock rear end, 255/50s should be no problem.

Good to see these fit. I also want to go with a 17" Cragars but sometimes my 15 x 7's rub with 245/60's.
