Hi all. My son has a 68 Skylark Custom and bought some 1970 Wildcat rims for it (Grad present). I got some Tiger Paws installed for him but when he went to put them on the car we discovered that the bolt patterns are slightly different - it seems the bolt circle diameter on the rims is just a bit bigger than the car. Can we get hubs that will adapt the rims to the car?

    Thanks

    alec296 i need another buick

that would be the big bolt pattern 5 on 5
    versus the 5 on 4 3/4
adapters would probalbly be more costly than its worth
and throw the offset out too far to use them
i suggest to find the right ones or look around on the site ,there is a guy who
recores wheels, maybe you can trade up

I was hoping I could get something off another car at the wreckers - other Buicks, Chevy, Pontiac, Olds?

The Wildcat rims you bought were 15x6 with the 5x5 bolt pattern. Buick made 15x7 road wheels (or ralley wheels) with the 5x4.75 bolt pattern from 1970 to 1987. Look for wheels stamped with rim codes 903 and 975. According to an article in the August 2002 issue of the Buick Bugle they were "offered on 1971-77 "A" cars, except wagons, 1977-1987 R.W.D.; "B" cars (LeSabre) and "C","D" car (Electra) with the 4-3/4 inch bolt circle hubs." These 15x7 wheels have the same 4-3/8" back spacing, 2-3/4" hub diameter and 2-1/8" center cap diameter as the 14x6 road wheels that where available in 1968. So if you wanted to stay with the Buick road wheels the 15x7 should work. Also, read this thread that was referred to earlier:
