    I Know I should get 15's, 16's or 17's, but 14's are all I got.

    I wanted some advice on tire combos;

    Combos

    1) Front: 225/60R14, Rear: 225/70R14 (The vehicle was run on this combo by the PO.)

    2) Front and Rear: 215/70R14

    3) Front and Rear: 205/70R14

    4) Front and Rear: 195/75R14

    5) Front: 215/60R14, Rear 215/70R14

I'm going for a raked stance.

    6) Your suggestion.

    Thanx
    Dano

on the original 14" rallyes on my '72 gs, in 2001, I ran 225R70 t/a all around. In 2005, I ordered for 15" rallyes from wheel vintiques and installed 245R60 t/a on all four corners. what a difference in handling going to the 245 tires.

I've seen a couple of members complain about wheel vintiques....do you have any quality issues with your wheels? Vibration? Wheel hop? Can't get em balanced correctly?

    Thanks, Brian,

I would go with either a BFG T/A 235/60-14 or a 245/60-14. I think the sizes you are looking at are too narrow.

I eventually discovered that the rallyes (15") that I purchased from wheel vintiques in 2005 were out of square - out of spec! i even had one rim showing a rust spot. had steve Caruso rebuilt my wheel centre cores with new 15 x 7 rim shells. he did an excellent job and all wheels were in spec.
if u have original 14" rallyes, ship them to steve for rebuild.
by the way 235r60 and 245r60 are too wide for 6" rims

the only problem with non-matching front/rear combo is if you have a Posi, your spare MUST be sized for the rear tire

I'd like to see how some of these suggested tire sizes look on the 14x6 rally wheels. Who has pictures to post that show your stance?

I run Front and Rear: 205/70R14 with no noticeable issues on my 70 Skylark custom. Ive been considering going with either 225 or boldly into 235 but have not as of yet.

225r70 will nicely fit on the 14" rallyes. 235r70 are really too wide for 6 inch rims.

    Dano,

What combination did you decide to go with? How do they handle and do you have any pictures to share?

Would there be any advantage to using a 255/60 on a 15x7 rim, as opposed to a 245/60?

    Thanks

a little wider & a little taller. 255 would look meaner on the road.
