Hello. I need a lesson in these switch pitch converters. I had a 400 switch pitch trans built by a local shop, it works great, but he insisted on using a "rebuilt" converter from his supplier and it doesn't have much of a high stall, almost nil. I saw that Nick says he doesn't want a Poston or PAE (I recoginize the Poston name but know nothing of the PAE name), are these brands inferior? Does the switch pitch converter from a ST 300 fit the 400 transmissions? What are my options for a switch pitch converter for my 400 that will actually have some high stall? It is behind a mild 455. Thanks, and I hope you don't think I am trying to derail your post here. Mike Phelps
Joe,Let me know. Thanks Mike,Nothing against Pae or Poston.I am looking for a virgin core unlike the Pae/Poston converters which have already been rebuilt/modified.
Nick.....had to dig for this one....been saving it for 20+ years. PM on the way..... This is a 12"......optical illusion  Peace WildBill
I have a ST300 trans out of a 65 Gran Sport with the converter still in it. It "supposedly" worked good when pulled many years ago. I was thinking of selling the entire unit, but apparently the converter is the only part of any real value. Anyone interested? Make me an offer. Lord knows I need to start making room and getting rid of "extra's"! Steve
