12 v wire location 84 le sabre

    i am wanting to know what color the 12v power wire is in my 84 le sabre.
    i am talking about the ones coming out of the ignition switch. can anyone help here?
    and i have a strange power drain also. if i leave the batteryconnected, will be dead overnight. i removed the power accy breakers, still some faint sparking when i touch the neg cable.i have to leave it disconnected. can anyone help???

    There are a number of taps in the Fuse Block to get constant 12 volt power and hot in run power. NAPA and other jobbers would have the connector that plugs into to these taps. That way you do not have to hack into the wiring harness.

    Finding a power drain can be tricky. First check the underhood light. glove box light and truck light to make sure they are not constantly on.

    You could set up a little jumper with a light bulb and connect between the positive battery post to the positive battery cable which is not connected to the battery. As long as the bulb glows you know the current draw is still there.

    Then start pulling fuses one at a time. Replace the fuse if the light does not go out. When you found the circut with the drain you have found the circuit.

    When you find the circuit that has the drain, let us know here and we can tell you what is connected to it in the wiring harness diagrams.
