does anyone sell rebuild kits (bearings/shims etc) for chevy 12 bolts? i picked up a 69 chevelle rear end and looking to rebuild the rear. who also makes a good posi differental for the 12 bolt or are there any to avoid?. it will be primarially a street car. I was told the the rear currently has 3.31's in it (though i need to do my own verification). I'd want to re-use that gearing if possible. thanks, Nate
For gears and posi units I would go with Randy's Ring and Pinion. They have shops in Tennessee and Seattle, Washington. I just bought an Eaton posi unit from them about 2 months ago. Their price was better than Summit or Jegs. Buy an Eaton, they are the best posi units out there. They even sell the 800 ft/lb spring upgrade for the posi, Summit and Jegs don't even carry this.
