12 bolt with a round cover is an Olds 12 bolt. Chevy has an oval cover with drainage (eyebrow) in the cover.
I have a 12 bolt "OLDS" in my 70 GS---it has a VERY clear stamp on the axle tube(passenger side facing aft) albeit upside down-- it has S7--Oldsmobile code 323 anti-spin (69 type O). Verified it by rotating rear tire 10x and watching driveshaft(after marking it) go about 32 times around. This method is a pain but does work. Pete
Canadian-built models had a Chevy 12-bolt installed in '69 (and other years also I'm sure). If the 7th digit of your VIN is an "I" (looks like a 1), your car was built in Canada and that is a Chevy 12-bolt. -Bob C.
