I was considering replacing the axles in my 12 bolt last year with aftermarket ones.
After following this thread, I'm going to as a precaution, and peace of mind.
I'm running the 350 with DR's, I'm sure its not brutalizing the rear as much as the 455 would, but I'd rather have the rear "over built" for my application:TU:

    It's better than "good enough".

LOL... Yah this is turning into the 600cfm carb is good, 700cfm is better, 750cfm even better, 800 or 850 must be the BEST... Remember....

This is why I am Soooo Busy building rears and changing gears.

Everyone wants to feel all warm and fuzzy about parts lasting forever and or for a long time...Just have to remember that anything can and will happen when you beat on the cars- whether on the track or street or other.

Nothing is infallible- I will say this and always stick to it...It is more the install of the parts than the parts themselves that will make most things last.
I am not saying to go as cheap as you can and install will solve all your problems... do not put yourself in the poor house but do spend relative to what you spent on other parts of your car. engine, trans, paint, interior etc.---- Do not run yourself out of money that SHOULD be spent to do the job the car will need to do. If you can afford the best I guess buy the best... most of the time for most people it really is not necessary. It is American and your aloud to get what you want.... for now... :)

    Just more thoughts.

If you can't afford to do it the right way, then wait until you can. Otherwise you might end up doing something more than once, which will result in you paying more and having less.
