there is a hybrid rag joint needed and you will need to cut the ends off you lines to get the fittings off put on metric fittings and reflare or maybe some makes a adapter fitting? i am positive some has the exact answer to these questions because people do this all the time this is the box the protouring guys use except they get the $400 "blueprinted" box http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=130473 http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?p=1607839#post1607839
Do you know if these will fit a 74 x-body? Also looking for a complete front drive set up of a 86-87 gn (like the pic). I have an 85 motor that I converted to intercooled and want the serp set up so I can throw the v-belt set up in the trash, the alt is in the way of the throttle body and the serp set up looks way cooler. Maybe we could make a deal on some parts?
I'm don't think it will decrease your steering radius, but call Tom Lee's company to find out at 818-768-0371. I had to replace the steering gear in my '78 F150 about 10 times over the last 32 years. Each time the quality of the rebuilt boxes was worse and worse. The truck was dangerous to drive with all the play in the steering. I was ready to get rid of it. I had a friend at a very high tech aircraft engineering and machining firm try to rebuild it for me. It was a disaster after paying $300. I finally found Tom's company and although I paid $500 for the box it's better then new. BTW, I'm running an '87 Turbo Regal box on 3GS.
give me a day or 2 guys i will wrap 1 up and get shipping for you both! i have several so no worries about fighting over them
Lots of info posted by Nate here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=130473 You'll need a 3/4" rag joint for the late model boxes. $80 new, or get one in a junkyard for a few bucks.....see post#8 in the above thread. Camaro/TA boxes will decrease turning radius, but the G-body and Jeep boxes have the same 43 degrees of travel like our early A-bodies.
