Couldn't resist on the title there IMG_20191116_223811590~2.jpg , it's amazing what you guys are doing. But I just had to put this up. Been out twice now with the Stude with the 464. Looks like it might finally live. Need to tighten up on the converter slippage some. Been a long 2 1/2 years getting to this point. Ran the 10.50 in San Antonio. Went 10.61, 10.65, and 10.57 in NINETY degree heat in Edinburgh last weekend. It's finally fun again. 126 mph in a 55' Studebaker is a trip. Don't think I'm gonna shoot for much more.

Any idea what your car weighs, any details on the motor.

My 464 runs very similar numbers, when I 60ft 1.47/8 I turn upper 6.60s low 70s, my best has been 1.430 going 6.52@104 in the 660........but only had the chance early on b4 tuning and good air to run a single full pass, it only went 1.478, 6.72@101.0, then 10.62@125.5.

Sportsman rods, ta flat tops, stg 2 se's (flow 343/235) cemented, girdled, 308s cam, ta sp-2 intake, 1050 dominator. Purchased all the parts, (except the heads) from a buddy. He had water leakage issues with his previous set up with this block but blamed it on a head issue. I was only hoping for 600 hp on the first go round with it. It's made 703 hp. I only had a Halo girdle and no block fill. Went to bowling in 17', had nothing but problems, hurt converter, carb issues, ignition issues, you name it. Checked oil after the last run and had water in the oil. Finally found the source of the water leak back home with it. Had a crack in #2 cyl. Sleeved cyl., cemented the block, and installed girdle, also crossed fingers. Added a ta front cover and oil pump, and loosened up the clearances a bit. It seems to be happy now. My borrowed converter has 25 % slippage. Got to get that fixed up. 3500 lbs with me in it. 3.73's and 30" slicks.

Dont feel bad my first 464 had over 2500 passes, thus one the first time made it less than 5 passes. With 4 being less than 200 ft. Switched builder basically due to builder #1 schedule.........I didnt want to wait another 18+months to get it back.

Ours is molnar rods flat tops te2 head 370/265@.600. Our custom csm is just slightly bigger than a 308s, sp2 intake, 1050.....think it could use more actually. ...3625 with me in mine, 4.30 gears with 29x10 slicks. Engine builder has built several very similar to mine and he said they all have gone over 700, but we did not have ours dynoed. We have no block fill, no girdle, just a postons girdled pan with bullet main caps..........which I'll fitting caps was the issue on the failed 464

I'm pretty sure my converter could use some work as well. Sent it back 3 times now, but the car is so crazy consistent I hate to tinker too much

Mine dynoed the 703 number with some borrowed 2" ta headers, put my noisy ass 2 1/8" homemade side exit fenderwell headers on this last dyno session after the re-re build and only made 679 hp. Guess I'm no header builder.

Or maybe the motor likes the smaller pipes better, but 23 ponies on just headers is a pretty good chun . Like 3.5%

65/6600, converter is slipping 25%. Get the converter right and could probably go to 4.11's in the rear. I got spoiled on the old 430 setup. Ran 11.70's shifting at 5000, going through the traps at 5500. Had a loose converter with that engine, probably could have gone 11.50's

Sometimes...More gear will actually help reduce converter slip.

Oh, the title went over my head at first too. LOL.

Glad to see you getting your issues worked out.
