Part # 2691 states it is a Thermo Quad adapter...??? And isn't that Edelbrock carb a spreadbore carb? The TA Stage 1 350 intake "should" have bolt patterns for spread and square bore carbs. Doesn't sound to me like you need an adapter. Have you set the carb on the intake to see if the holes line up? Now, using a spacer is a whole 'nother matter, rather than an adapter.

The Edelbrock carbs are all squarebore carbs, like Holleys. While it will bolt to the intake manifold, it requires a spacer to give the correct shape to the carb pad, so the carb will run at it's best.

That aside, IMO, you are making a big mistake. Go find yourself a Q-jet carb. That is what is supposed to be on there. You probably bought a 600 Edelbrock carb. The Stock Q-jet was 750.

I agree, stay away from that aftermarket junk, have seen nothing but problems from people who go that route. They are hard to start, will not idle, and never seem to be able to be adjusted right and just plain run like crap. And my wife says I have a problem with expressing my true feelings.

There is nothing wrong with an edelbrock carb. I drove my car for years and it was a good carb. I did not have one problem with it. I did use a spacer on my TA stage 1 intake as well. Now that said I like the Qjets better but there is nothing wrong with the edelbrock carbs. Just my thoughts.

FYI. had a 600 edelbrock and drove from California to Texas and Got around 20mpg. 1400miles
