We were finally able to do some work on Jenn's New/Old dragster:grin:. The dragster is a very early 70's rear engine design. It has a 220" wheelbase and is 39.5" high. You sit very low in this car. The engine is an injected 425 from my front engine dragster. Transmission is a built power-glide with a 2800rpm converter. The front of the cars body panels are magnesium and cover the fuel tank, battery and ignition system. We will be redoing the back body side panels before painting the car similar to the red ,white and blue of our Supercat dragster. These 3 pictures are of the car when we got it last year.
For mothers-day we worked on the 2 dragsters. We were finally able to get the 425 out of my front engine dragster to get that car ready for its new "reactor":grin:. It really shows how low the car and engine really sit:shock:. This car will be very fun to drive.....
Devon this style of car is like driving a 200mph go-cart. This style of dragster came along after a short span of almost flat rear engine cars. In that style of dragster you were almost laying on your back looking down your chest. Many people had issues with blood going to their head from the low design under acceleration:shock: Blacking out would not be something I want to experience when behind the wheel. I don't want to miss anything as it is already a short rideou:. Tony my wife lives for drag racing:TU:and it has always been fun working together on our cars.
