ok guys hears is a question if i have 2.73 gears in my car now and runs 96 in a 1/4 mile, and i put 3.55 gears in can i expect anymore mph or will it stay the same. also with a 3.55 gear running 96mph what kind of times can i expect. thanks bryan
I'd guess you're are running a low to mid 14 with that speed with a big block. If traction was a problem with the 2.73 gears it will be more of a problem with the 3.55's (even with a posi.). I would guess your times will drop either way after you run a time or two, maybe high 13's?? Speed should pick up as well, maybe 101 mph I really like my 3.42 gear and would suggest that as an alternative, what rear are you running?
i'm runing a BOP 10 bolt with slicks a couple of people say 12's if you run 100mph. a buddy of mine runs a dodge dart at 98 mph and 12.80's
Just out of curiosity, where in Missouri are you located? I know someone in the St. Louis area that runs that time with a 68 Dart GT ragtop. His name is Gary Shelton. Just wondering if it that same guy. Brian
