Found this model a while ago. What puzzles me is that the car is a 70 GS Stage 1 and the box shows it should be a 70 GSX. Should it be this way or was this a mistake? The box is not opened and the plastic strips are still over hood and doors. Anyone know??

All of them are that way. Ertl had no clue.

the first one I have from the good year series was a black gs in the same box, the others come the same way.

I have 2 original ERTL GSX's (1 '70 yellow & 1 '71 black/gold) in the boxes from some 15 years or more ago. ERTL made different series over the years - and this is one of them. I am curious if the hood has any mark for the hood tach - which is on each of mine?

Looks like I need to correct myself a little. The car in the picture with the title GSX were all like that. Ertl did make a ton of other cars painted correctly for hte GSX and some painted as a GS. The only one I know of that had the wrong lable is the one in the picture.
