An FYI: this guy is known on the Pontiac and Olds boards as a restamper. The carbs numbers are for a 69 Stage 1.

I guess, if numbers really matter (which they obviously do for a lot of people). Still, looking at a couple hundred to rebuild it. $500 when it's all said and done is sort of steep (to me anyway) just for a stamp and some bigger jets. Funny thing is they don't even perform as well as the regular 455 carbs from the 71 and later engines though. I once sent my carb to a dealership to be rebuilt (when I had the 400 in it still) and I got another carb back, only to find out 20 years later when I gave it to my friend to put on his truck that he checked the numbers and it was for a 350 not a 400. Thing is I didn't notice that much difference. o No:
Due to a recent ISP server change, I possibly lost this carb...I was bidding on it. Put it in my 'sniper' program for the last 3 secs. Well, I never updated my account with my new ebay handle = SOLD for $255. My max was $250 w/o sniper, $365 with...o No: uzzled:
These carbs are about as rare as a 7043245...Took me since the early 90's to locate a 4 speed carb for my 73 GS 350 4 speed car. The date is off a little, but who the heck is complaining...
Sorry if I sound like an idiot but what is the difference between a auto and 4 speed carb? And can one be used or converted for the other?
It's for the '69 Stage1 4-speed 'vert. It was the only piece that was not original and numbers-matching on the car.:3gears:
