    Hello everyone,
I am completely baffled. I had my original 0.10/0.10 crank on my 455 turned to 0.20 on rods and mains the other day. I had it turned due to a scratch on the crank. When I previousely placed the original (0.10/0.10)crank in place it rotated freely by hand without main caps.
When I placed the 0.20 crank in place it will rotate fairly easy but not as easy as before. I checked the clearances and they are all 0.002. No deviation what so ever. I used clevite 77 bearings.

My question is could it be the thrust bearing causing it to have some drag? There are no caps installed. Can the thrust bearing be checked in this positon?

I guess another thing I need to know is when turning the crank by hand w/o caps how freely should it turn?

    Bearings and saddles are clean.

Thanks a lot for all of your help
