No Dan wouldn’t use Chevy rockers, he just posted that photo to show an example of why he would use them. Dan has been running low 11s with 68-70 style alum factory rockers for years. He is class limited or else he would use TA rollers.
No, that wasn’t his point. Mark meant that the Buick 350 is still a potent engine even with a relatively small bore.

I agree 100%. I took it personally that we didn’t have alum heads and once TA stepped up and decided to design them I flipped 360 degrees! TA has been making the products that we NEED even if the $ aren’t there. I have never seen such a devoted and loyal family business. It’s inspiring. The alum V6 block TA created was needed, and I’m not even sure if they have yet recouped the $ from that. My point is that ever since TA committed to building the heads they have gained my respect and loyalty. Never again will I complain. We as a 350 crowd need to learn to stick together. I’m so sick of the negative comments and bashing others. Quit complaining about what other people aren’t doing. Let’s work together and put the 350 on the map. Encourage and collaborate.
Yes I run the 68-69 rockers with adjustable TA hybrid pushrods on the roller rocker shafts. never a problem with this setup. Run lots of spring pressure to keep valves under control. 7000 rpm no problem.
The issue and criticism stem from the anticlimactic product release. These heads seem to be the most anticipated product for the sbb world and maybe even TA performance. There was no big unveiling, no album release party. I think that's what the mob was looking for.

VERY TRUE! I was getting confused on seeing cnc machines doing their thing to the heads on Facebook, but then nothing here, or seeing stuff posted here but it wasn't posted by TA Performance.
Ok, so we all know that the heads are capable of 480 hp so now what is that recipe so it can be repeated.
Are they? should have went for 510 hp to make sure. If capable then the whole package should be sold together with a recipe to get there. The dyno sheet had very very good numbers so I think to repeat that it should be sold as a complete set. "the 480 recipe" With a 480 badge for the fender. That will make someone take note
im pretty sure the combo is listed on here if not on here its in the hot 350 build posted by Michael. It all really comes down to compression and how big of a cam you want to run its capable of 500+.
How about TA put together a top end package with the new heads. Could be three levels like mild, wild and insane. Hint hint. I’m sure they know what to expect with their products! I prefer insane, but I want to be able to drive on the street with no issues beings that’s where my GS will spend 95+% of its time.
Are you guys just going to continue to move the goal posts for TA? The heads are out. They are clearly a huge improvement over the stock heads. They are expensive, this is an expensive hobby. Compression and Cam are the main decisions. The heads will enhance everything else you do to the engine. It really isn't rocket science. All the Buick engine builders know how to build HP. Tell them what you want and have them build it for you.

Gee, all I wanted to know was what was done to the motor to get to the level of HP provided by the person building the motor. No more than what was asked of me over the last 12+ years being on this site. I guess I can backtrack the threads and go to the "The One Hot 350" to see what was done to the motor. and I did not know what I asked was a cookie cutter recipe. I know how to do it I don't have to ask here. What's the recipe for a 455 motor I guess I can just look it up in the 455 section why ask questions. it's all there no cookie cutter recipe's there. Just read it. All I asked for is what was done to the motor to get to that 480 HP level and the big TQ. It's a 12.50 motor who wants to know about that. Did anyone notice that the dyno sheet from the 350 was done back in March!
