A strung out little 302 or 350, some new tires, oh yeah........this thing is begging for me. https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/boise-1960-nsu/6780712044.html 1960 NSU - $2000 (Boise) hide this posting image 1 of 2 1960 NSU made in Germany production 1958 - 1962 . I've got a stock good running Vortec 350, a Victor intake, a 750 DP, and a brand new set of 12.5 slicks sitting around......I've been fighting the urge to call for about a year now.....
That engine would rip that car apart. It's bigger than the car is, you won't get the full powertrain into it unless you plan on sitting on it. Check out the Vette that's behind it...
Marc, I'm aware of and capable of making the required chassis mods and moving the driver's seat and steering controls rearward. It's not a bolt in thing, a lot of fab would go into it. Guys have been doing much more extreme stuff than this for years.....I don't want a blower, just a little 350-400 hp, 1500 lbs. fun machine.......Exhibits A and B, being Topolinos and Anglias.....If you have to ask why, you don't get it
I KNOW he'll sell it for less hahaha....which is why I haven't called. I've been staring at it for about a year, and there's just something cool and completely wrong about it.
Well, the original had a 2 stroke aircooled job in the back and was pretty quick in it's own right. The front was the tank and the trunk, just like a VW. Lucas, I get it, I've seen the Anglias and such, and this thing is smaller and flimsier than those were. It'd be cool if you could make it work; but wouldn't it be easier to mold a body shape in fibreglass and just put it on a rail?
Hey Lucas, "It's no big thing" to do what you want to do to that little car. See what I mean.................. That was a fun car to see make a pass. It pulls the wheels on every gear change!
Tell ya what....I'll fly into Montana, you pick me up at the airport. We'll road trip to Boise with your truck and trailer. By the time me and you are done with the guy, he'll be paying us to take it away.
Imagine how squirrely that thing would be going down the track? put a lightly warmed up SBB or BBB in it and Id drive it.

These are also steel which is cool. We race with people that run Morris Minors and the little English Ford mini delivery vehicles in the 7.0s Anything is possible Lucas. When people say you can't just say "Thanks for the inspiration".
