Got a last minute before BG problem I need help with! I just installed a line lock in the green car for it's GSR debut. Tested it in the driveway, and the tire shake is UNGODLY. What the heck is going on?

    Parameters are as follows:

-MT ET street R bias with 25psi. Used water to simulate water box.
    -air bags with 20 psi.
Revved up to 3k and dump the clutch, thought the car was coming apart.

    HELP!!!

It seems weird the front tire is moving if you have a line lock.

I very well may not have pumped the brakes real well. That was my second attempt as I wanted the wife to get video and to be honest, I was sh*##ing bricks after the first rodeo.

Did you connect to back brake line?

    Rear suspension too stiff?

Nope, solenoid is hooked to the fronts

I'm kinda wondering if it was too much air in the drag bags.

Wonder why front wheels are rolling?

Again, Im almost positive I didn't pump them up and push hard before setting it. Or who knows, maybe it's not working right. I don't know...... I'm just terrified to even warm the tires up now.....

Did you try without line lock?

No. Made 3 attempts with LL and chickened out. I'm also wondering if maybe it's how rough the pavement is right there.

I run 5 lbs of air in my RH bag and 12 in the left bag..20 lbs seem high to me.

Looks like wheel hop. Do play with the air pressure in the air bags. What kind of shocks do you have back there?

Ok Pat and Larry, you guys are making me think that my bags are too high of pressure (and some googling is indicating that as well). Also the "suspension too stiff" comment is leading me in that directing.

Larry, I'm running stock style delcos. Ran out of time and money to go any further with modifying for BG. :(

With a 4 speed, launch RPM is critical. Too low and it bogs, too high and it spins. It might be bogging and some wheel hop. It's called test and tune for a reason:) Play with it at BG. Even if you have problems launching it, you can run it through the gears and get a trap speed. That will tell you a lot about the ET potential of the car. It will still be fun.:)

Wheel hop. its violent in Jennifer's 86 GT. Feels like the car is going to snap in half when I launch the car.

You may need to install no hop bars. They angle the rear axle slightly

normally wheel hop occurs with not enough wheel speed or too much grip.

if it never happened b4 line lock, the only thing I think of is its now sitting somewhat still where b4 ut could had just quickly rolled out.

might try to get the tires wetter, or try more wheel speed. I dont have stick car, but in mine to get the tires rolling in 1st and then lightly let off and shift to 2nd. I normally only go about 4500 in 1st but sit about 5500 in 2nd till I feel the rims start to drag down, then out I roll.

you might need to start at s higher rpm, or maybe even in 2nd.

    the hop didn't start instantly

EDIT- they relocate the upper trailing arms

My plan was to always do a second gear burnout as my first gear is ultra low. That was just a test (which failed miserably as you can see....). I had actually never done a burnout with the MT's on it, this is my first go with them. But with the BFG radials it never wheel hopped through 2 gears (though as you correctly pointed out, it was rolling when I did those. I mean "allegedly" did those....)

I should add too that I have adjustable upper control arms and umi tubular lowers.
