Lighten up Francis. I thank a Vet almost daily for serving. No disrespect here, quite the opposite, father served in Korea, grandfather was a Merchant Marine. I will observe and pay my respects as I see fit. Perhaps you should show some respect for your fellow board members and save the yellin rant for the misses when she burns yer dinnah. She probably won't appreciate being yelled at either....Jim
I am a vet. My One my mother's side. My grandfather was WWI vet, two uncles were Korean vets, one was unable medically but worked for Boeing military division. On my father's side, my grandfather was a plumber/fitter in the San Diego shipyard and my grandmother made parachutes there. My ex- wife's father was a WWI vet, (yeah, born in 1890 and fathered her when he was 64). My step father served My ex served during Vietnam and I retired after the end of Desert Storm. My oldest daughter joined after 9/11. And then there are my cousins... I remember every single day, those lost, and the cost of my freedom. I cherish my service and those I served with. I live and have lived with military people around me my entire life. My neighborhood is full of SF/SOF folks and families and many of my friends are active, non-active and retired vets. And I live and enjoy life to the fullest, for everyone who never had the chance. And it involves celebration, even on the most of solemn days, because I owe them everything, and my joy is their joy realized. And I am thrilled to see others able to enjoy freedom without having the think of the cost. That is truly freedom. The same as not seeing fear in a child, that innocence of the cost to their existence. Those who are grateful and understand, honor those who give and have given, and those who do not cannot me mandated to care. And in the end, I have to accept that for what it is. I appreciate the poster's opinion, and understand the intent. "Only the dead have seen the end of war."
Rear seat redo and then get interrupted with an alternator for a relatives 1999 Mazda Protege ....its not an easy one
For the first time this year, we are fully outside! And we can both go and stop. Now to put the passenger quarter window regulator back together and the rest of the interior back in.
Will continue with the project of putting the factory in-dash tach back in and also installing rear 6 x 9 speakers and dual front speaker in preparation for getting my factory radio back with converted inside. Haven't had any music in my GS since I bought it and am looking forward to playing all the music on my thumb drive through the USB port on the new radio.
Before and after. But I did find something that scares me. None of the front end pieces had cotter pins in then. None on inner outer tierods, drag link etc. all was hidden with motor in car. It does have a gearbox issue so maybe PO took it all apart and didn’t replace them. Also I can now see other detail colors and finishes now that I have it all cleaned up
First short test drive on the new brakes successful. Beat the rain storm home. Hopefully it'll be nice at least one of the next 2 days, its humid enough to sweat just sitting around,75, and raining right now. F100 is now equipped with new kyb shocks. Sway bars didn't show up so no more work on it for the weekend (can't fab panhard bar until I see where everything on the sway bars mount).
I got my GS hood on my car last weekend it had A little damaged spot that I fixed. Yesterday I done some body work on it, and primed it.To day I put the grills nose trim back on.
Later today I will attempt to drive out a rivet in the Ts steering column and will try to fit in a new one. I bought a rivet bit for my air hammer from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty, and made a bucking bar. We shall see how it all works.
Nice riv . Sat , set up n sell at local swap . Hot . Good crowd . Sun am , fix my son's girlfriend's Jeep compass electric windows . The usual front door to A pillar wire loom mess . Nothing as exciting as cool old Buick work .
That looks awsum Joe. I got the neighbor's attention today and we put the hood on. Still have to adjust it down in the rear. Headliner, windshield, front rubber and a long punchlist of lil thangs , followed by a checkup on Buickrats lift, and she'll be road ready.....Jim
