penske Here is the trunk lid on my friends GS455 convertible, The car was sold new at Roger Penske dealership
Anthony our cars came from the same dealer! Corleto in South Philly. I've still got the little plate that was on the car, but I took it off last summer to wax the car and just kept in the garage since. I still have the original license plate too.
Nick, that's really neat. Obviously your is from a different year then mine is. Do you know if Corleto was the dealer your car first sold at? I'll PM you tomorrow with more info. :beer :TU: :TU:
Anthony I'm pretty sure Corleto was the dealer it was first sold at. I have the name of the original owner, and he lived and stored the car in Philly. I tried looking up the dealership, but it apparently went out of business.
Mine has the logo from Ralph Brown in Washington DC. In excellent shape, also. I sort of like it! Wish I had frames to match. Keith
Nick, if I remember correctly, Corleto Buick was located on South Broad st. in Philadelphia in the '50s and '60s. Crisconi Olds and Marv Pollow Chevrolet were also on S. Broad st. By the early '70's, these large, high volume stores moved to the newly opened South Phila. Auto Mall, near the airport. The auto mall still exists, mostly dealing in Japenese and Korean imports. Crisconi, Corleto and Pollow are long gone.
my 65 Riviera has this on its bum. I have her way down under in Port Ma cquarie Australia now.... sorry about the darkness - could take a pic in daylight if ya like...
Another old thread that comes up :TU: I think this has to do with the Similar Threads notification under posts on this new board ? Anyway, here are a few photos from my "Buicks in scrap yards" collection: (That last photo is from a car that actually wasn't on a scrap yard, but it sure was an old banger.....)
I found the original dealer tag for mine that I found in the glovebox. It is from "Hez Ward Buick" in west virginia. Ill try to get a picture up.
Mark. My Gold car sold new at Shannon Buick....The dealer identification was not a chromed pot metal emblem though, it was a sticker placed on the rear bumper. This sticker was 4 or 5 inches long, and had a chrome like background with black lettering. I tried but failed to remove it from the bumper before it was rechromed. I wish I had snapped a pic of it. Jim J.
Shannon Buick is now Reichard Buick :Comp: Maybe they still have old Shannon Buick stuff laying around ? If I remember well, Mark's father worked at Shannon Buick :TU:
My skylark had the original dealer emblem on it, which I removed during the resto. I tucked it away for safe keeping. I also have the original owners manual and dealer envelope that has a picture of the dealer, phone number, and business hours. The dealership is no more. Glad this memorabilia survived. Vern Parsell Buick, Flint Michigan :TU:
Here's the original dealer emblem and key fob for my 70. The emblem is NOS. If the car ever gets a frame off, it will get installed
