I'm not sure if everyone is already aware but... Over on the MG Experience Forum Brian MacMillan, Jim Nichols, and Anthony Laney in Australia have orchestrated the first run of custom 300-4 Willpower Intake Manifolds! It is made for the Aluminum Buick V8 swapped MG crowd but fits iron heads as well. When I get mine, I will need a 4 barrel carb! Would the stock 4 barrel Carter be the best route or is an aftermarket option WAY better and not too hard to set up? I'm sure this topic has been beat to death, but I wanted to spread the word about the new 300 Willpower Intake.
Depends on what your engine needs and what flange they made into the intake. Sq bore, spread bore or Holley / Dominator.
I like the Edelbrock AVS or Quick Fuel slayer. I've also heard good things about the Summit brand carbs. You only need about 500cfm for the 300. Probably about what the original Carter AFB was.
One only needs a 600 cfm carb to feed a 400 Hp motor basically, and I am darn sure your not making 400 hp out of that cid motor . a new AVS or AFB would be my choice since they are so easy to tune. The accelerator pump cluster can be removed easy and you do not have to drop the fuel bowls off to make secondary jet changes.
