Too bad most of these projects never get finished. All the fine workmanship involved with no end result.
I'd never seen this thread before it popped up today as I'd been off of here for the most part during that period. Very neat SBB stuff.
10 years of turbos and not any making a full pass at a track what a shame. Lot of money and time spent for nothing.
My old car chassis dynod at 460 hp and 470 TQ and ran low 11s in street form at 3950 pounds. That car was amazing, 3.42 Moser 12 bolt, 4 speed auto, 150 mph was easy on that car. I still have that engine and trans, for spares. The new owner swapped in a 1000 hp 383 SBC, and sold me back the forged 350 and billet 2004R. My current car was raced in Texas by the fellow who bought it from Mark. He claims it ran 10.15 in the quarter, it scales at 2980 plus me. Its not wasted money, I have everything I need, and most of it is all still new. All in good time, things are coming together. My priority is raising kids and making money, it doesn’t always leave time for too much car stuff. I can hop in my 75 Regal and drive anywhere, at any speed, the 350 I built for it is very good. I enjoy the hobby, driving these old cars, and I will take my car to the strip once it’s all dialled in. I’m not sure what I will do with the 13:1 355 race engine but I look forward to dyno testing it.
Guy would say that, but we're not all about the 1/4 mile and even the drag strip guys can get spanked on the street where it's all about the when, the how, the where and the who. I was always a sucker for the twisties. When you're leaving the corner sliding dead ass sideways at full lock with the tires nibbling at the edge and lining up for the next apex where you'll also be dead ass sideways but in the other direction, even if your car isn't set up perfect or it, that's driving my friends. Jim
I am not going to entertain this at all. Mr Blackwood, I can run in the twisties also my car is set up that way it is the complete package, but no one cares since no one likes my frank attitude.
I think your frank attitude is fine. Your statement above does come off as a bit negative... Which I don't suppose is helpful to the people working hard on turbo SBB setups. Hopefully some turbos small blocks get to the track soon...

Ahhhhhh Grumpy, why you gotta be like that??? My old turbo motor went down the track a TON. Jay3000's turbo car as well. New forged stroker is waiting for covid to **** off so track will reopen. Hopefully sooner than later...... Whens last time your old nitrous car has made a full pass???
Never thought I'd say this & I may never get to it, but you guys sure are piquing my interest in boosting a 350 someday.
Oh wait made a full pass at Buick Nats at Quaker last summer Wow that wasn't that long ago now was it? I made 4 passes, darn that old nitrous car still runs what a shame why I bet that is what number 60-70 on the bottle. What, it has only been in there since OH way back in the ancient days of 2005. That Old motor that was built in 1994 500+ runs on this motor plus the nitrous lets see if yours can handle it. I have something in store for you all stay tuned Don't blame me this thread started in 2012 9 years ago Now how many runs on those turbo cars oh you know those little 1/4 mile passes. Frankly Grumpy out
Cam my little turbo car handle it..... bahahaha your soooo funny. I wish I lived closer to you, so we could go to the track, line up together and you could enjoy looking at my rear bumper all the way down that quarter mile! Over & over & over Again
