Funny how common Crystal Blue was in ‘69. In addition to the Tony’s GS and the Motion car, This car (the Claire Buick Mover) also was a light blue four gear Stage 1 when new! When Bryan W. in Maine bought it it had Stage II parts in the 455 and 4.78s in the rear (I think-correct me if I’m wrong).

I think Duane is thinking of something much closer to his heart, and his garage...

Sorry- did I not spell Denny Manner correct? It was a great half an hour discussion with him. He sounded great.
He did say he found most of these rare parts from Tony and others just recently. Tony must have had some more stuff put away.

Aint that the ´69 Bill Lagna bought many years ago and got his stage 2 stuff from for his GSX? I remember him telling me the story of the ´69 he bought with stage 2 and 4.78´s out rear.

As far as I recall, @bill lagna 's GSX came w/the Stage II stuff (installed?) when he bought it. Where those parts came from Idk. Maybe Bill will chime in here and clarify.

I found that picture (just the picture, not the magazine page/picture) on my computer at home last night. I still have more looking to do, I'm sure I had one or two other pictures.

The 69 Stage 2 car I bought was Ed Mchams car out of Kentucky .
I sold the car to a guy that restored it to one of the BEST 69 's around NICK SERVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is a Master in his trade !!!!

This display will be a real hit with everyone at the GS Nats. The 2021 GS Nats sounds like it is shaping up to be a great event with more and more great cars and rare stuff to see. Anyone that is on the fence about coming should seriously consider attending.

The 4-bolt main block has been passed through many hands of people on this board, so who actually owns it? Is it Denny's block now?

Anyone know where this display will be? Seems like it'd be better suited for a small conference room at the Ramada if they have them. Weather has not been our friend down there and it'd be more secure.

Remember when ppl used to set up parts for sale booths in the lobby of the Holidome?

Denny is the care taker now. Which is fitting as he is the guy that designed and built it.

So no one person owns it? It's a Buick community funded/owned item?

The details of what you are asking is not anyone's business except for Denny, myself, Brad, and Mark.

It is up to Denny to discuss that, as per his wishes, and that ends this subject.

If you want more info then ask him.

And for what it is worth, my wife's maiden name is Branson. I asked her if she knew a Tony Branson in NC. She said she had lots of relatives in NC so they may be related. It is my understanding that Tony passed away several years ago. Is this correct?

    Yes,
Tony passed away but both Denny and I talked to him in 2006. I believe Denny went to meet him and stay there for a couple of days. He and I have been talking back and forth piecing the "timeline" together.

I believe Tony owned a company that made nylons. I don't remember the name but will post it later.

    It may have been Sheerspan?

Sorry if my question came across as anything other than curiosity of who the lucky owner is. I guess my head has been in the sand as I've not ever seen this thing in person or heard it's history until now. It's a neat conversation piece and I'm glad to see it being displayed and shared with everyone publicly rather than tucked away in a private collection, never to be seen again.

Looking forward to the GS Nats.

    No problem,
It has been to a few BPG Nationals over the years and was displayed in Mark Reeves shop so people could see it. I still remember the day when Denny got to see the block and heads he made and hadn't seen for 36 years.

He told me at the time he never expected to ever see them again.

I think it was the following year when Mark brought the "block" displayed with the heads, headers and intake all together.
