Myself would be interested in real world testing. I want to know how much ET the heads knock off. IMO dyno's don't say much other than it was tested in climate controlled room.
And that is why I said that Haydn would dyno with the FI Tech, same stroker engine that was dynoed with a 750dp carb, and made a few runs at the track....then swap heads, and dyno it, and run it down the track again. It would work in our case to see how much the heads improve over the stock, slightly ported heads he is running now.
I used to work for National Twist Drill & Tool, bought out by Lear Siegler in the mid 70's. Made i.d. tooling for Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, & McDonald/ Douglas aircraft. Probably made some stuff you used John. Those were the days.....
I have every intention on buying the heads once they are available for sale. It just seems that day is not ever going to come. I don't even really care about how much power it gains, I just like have nice new toys. But I've gotta say I'm rapidly losing interest....might just be the winter blues though.
It’s the wet and the wind and the getting dark early that I hate. I’m ready for some long summer days!
hear ya on the summer blues man, almost sold the wagon last month. Just burnt out on working on it, just want to drive it already.
Its simple marketing to dyno test these heads vs irons. They would be foolish not to. Unless the results are not impressive.... it would be a real difficult sell if they are only worth 30 hp over irons.
I think they should move their operations from the west to the midwest to the east where all the Machinists are I seem to know a few and they aint dumb. Heck of a lot of racing going on in Ohio and Michigan There are 5 tracks in Ohio within 75 miles of me I am sure we can do a lot of testing here. I wouldn't worry about the heads putting out only 30 hp over stock heads it will be way past that. Mine are ported and only flow 235-176 TA has gone way past that and I pulled 390hp from 5900-6200 with a TA 510 cam and my ported heads. The real question is how much more HP over MY heads that will be the question. But I do think they need to flow as much as the engine will allow right off the bat without much extra porting. They are going to cost a pretty penny already so I think they need to be as far out as possible. Either way you look at it with these heads and a stout cam and with the better internal parts that are better and lighter than mine should be a lot more power than what I have. and if you don't like it stick a 100 shot of nitrous on it. it can handle it....believe me.
Has anyone heard what the price tag is going to be yet for bare an dressed heads or have they got that far yet?
All assembled was jsut under/over 3000. Bare I think was just under/over 2000. Maybe closer to 1500 bare.
