Are any of these songs truly forgotten? No, because then no one would remember them to put them on here...
Ha! But music is regional. I've heard "Frankenstein" every day since I was 14, and that was in multiple cities. I am curious if it is a lost classic of sorts to some depending on where they live.
I might catch Frankenstein a few times a year on the radio here in Alabama. I'm sure it is played more than that on the local stations but I don't hear it every time. Now Sweet Home Alabama I hear maybe five times a week!
Encouraged by Jimi Hendrix, "Redbone" became to first all Native band to have a # 1 hit. You gotta love the driving beat of "Witch Queen Of New Orleans". The kind of song where you hit the repeat button over and over.
Not sure about forgotton, but hadn’t heard in forever so dug out this album the other day. So many good tunes by these guys, but this one’s my fav. https://youtube.com/watch?v=VOaQAMC17GQ
Here is a song that was once banned in the 60s only to be later played by NASA to wake up U.S. Astronauts in space shuttle Challenger: Teach me Tiger by April Stevens (written by her brother and singing partner, Nino Tempo, in 1959 first released in 1960 and rereleased in 65) (Live)
Never heard of 'em but it reminds me of this song: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You know when those certain songs come on and youve already parked, so you just sit there in the car till it plays all the way through...
Anyone remember this? <iframe width="640" height="360" src="" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I know that song pretty well – that's truly a lost classic. The album's also pretty good. The singer has his own Facebook page and his solo output from the 1970s ain't bad either.
I've never heard much of the original album. "Go Back" was the tune that made the air around here. Hadn't even heard it until I looked for it. Guess I'll have to check out the album.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_JuJus Diego, and anyone else interested, check out this link. I attended Godwin High School until graduation in '69. Several members went to our school and other local schools. In an earlier post the name, Max Collie, spelled differently, reminded me of this. The JuJus played a lot of local gigs. Max is now a band director locally.
