I love the sound of my Magnaflows. As someone said, not too loud but will bark when you step on it. This video was right after exhaust system installation.
MAGNAFLOW MUFFLERS: 1971 Buick GS 455, Mickey Thompson Super Scavenger headers, 2.5" exhaust, crossover pipe, N-25 exhaust tips. Here is a short acceleration video: And at cruising speed:
It was a while ago but I'm pretty sure I put a pair of vortex cherry bombs on the gs 455. Very nice sound no highway drone. Sounds great when you put your foot in the tank. Very pleasant cruising. Economical alternative to the other high dollar mufflers. Also tried a pair of thrush hush. On the suncoupe455. Very similar to the vortex. Like them too
I went cheap (that's sounds bad I was low on money at the time) I bought the summit racing "street strip" mufflers at $30 a piece https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-638252 I think they sound good, they are not super loud at acceleration and idle they're not super quiet, their just right. No cross pipe or H , I think the guy that did my exhaust did 2.5 from headers back ( it was 6 yrs ago, trying to remember)
I've been hooked on Flowmasters since they came out. Have them on both Buicks and now my Power Wagon. Just love the sound. Only other system I have is a Borla on my WS6. Here's a crappy vid. lol. I just went for sound not picture quality.
