That's impressive. Your area is what Long Island used to be like 30 years ago. You could go down any sidestreet and see at least two or three old cars just sitting. This areas has been picked clean. The best you'll find around here is a Geo Storm or a Hyundai Excel sitting in a driveway nowadays.

Years ago Jen and I were on horseback on this trail that ran behind a block of houses. Behind one garage was a blue 73 Q code Mach. If you drive by the house, you would of never seen it. And yes, I asked about it. Wasn't for sale :(

The south has been picked pretty good. Used to look similar down here but not anymore. And what is aggravating is when I did stop in the past, owners would prefer to let them rot into the ground than to sell them to be saved.

This is literally about 25% of what I saw today. The place with the '55 Chevy had about 15 other cars out back...it makes a random drive fun just to go Easter egg hunting.

  9. There's a wrecking yard in Deaver Wyoming full of stuff like that and all rust free. I already cleaned the one out in Frannie Wyoming back in 2005

Oh yes, the early Excel... I was at the same duty station with a guy that bought one of THOSE cars. Poor guy should have saved for a few months to have a nice down payment on ANYTHING, but no-ooo, he HAD to have a car THEN. He financed that car for I think it was 4 years. Stripper basic model; If I recall correctly it had shoulder belts that came down, but not actual seat belts. I hated that car from day 1, and I think he hated less than a month after he got it...and he got married, and his wife hated it. (Car did not have A/C, was a stick-shift, etc)

Here is today's take. Went about 25 miles out of town to look at some Ford pickup parts for a '72 F100 473" drag truck we're building for my buddy. Guys house is a mecca of Ford truck stuff, also has an original model a with a few hop ups he drives a lot, some street rods, a few random 67-72 trucks, and some other cars. Both white trucks are factory big block a/c trucks, one 4wd one 2wd camper special. First pics are from his place. Next ones are just some of the stuff along the side of the road. REO truck and bubbletop Pontiac probably my favorites from this outing. Kaiser probably the rarest. Couldn't get all of everything, probably 20-30 more interesting things I didn't get pics of.

What year are you after? As an honest offer if you're interested, I guarantee I can find you 10 in under an hour if its from 63 on up. The wraparound windshield models are a little more difficult but I bet I can find 5-10 that arent in a big geoup per day if its all I did. Usually find groups of 10 or 15 in one guys yard though. I know where there's 30+ 60-66s in one lot.

Ford's, honestly, are a lot more common out here as classics where they actually got put to work. And they're a lot easier to find running and rust free. Take that for what it's worth.....I do still think 67-72 Chevys are the best looking trucks ever though :)

I think your just in a Ford state or part of town, I feel each state and some towns have a loyalty to a specific brand.

All those cool old vehicles around me, and I'd be wanting to 'rescue' them all.
