Same bidders, different auction. My God, from .99 to 32K on the first bid. LOL, nothing funny happening here.................
I asked about documentation, numbers matching, cowl pic, etc. on Feb 5, 8 and 12. Received a reply on Feb 6 but not to any of those questions.
Because the guy has money doesn't mean he is knowledgable . I know a young lady that has a new Ferrari. She drives it but can't parallel park it. She has to get out and let her boy friend do it. Some of us can tear a car down to pieces and put it back together while others can't even do an oil and filter change. He doesn' t understand the importance of our questions and maybe he is taking it personal like we are calling him a liar.
Oh, I am not calling him liar, I just need more info before placing a bid. Assuming the car is legit, it would do a lot better with more info out there.
Let’s play devils advocate and not only assume there are no documents, but also that the mileage is a lot more than advertised? The way these auctions are playing out and the lack of description, pictures, communication etc. A personal inspection backed up by paperwork/documentation is the only way to move forward with this car....... Oh yeah, and bring your shotgun!!!!
He has now added this to his description: I don't have any other documentation or build sheet, but all numbers match corrects as a Stage 1.
Which numbers?? I've yet to see the trim tag, Q-Jet, VIN (or SS code) on the block or Muncie and an "ON" code on the rear. If you're selling a big money car like this, these are all paramount for potential buyers. It's not really rocket science.
Good info, Chris. Back when it was local, a friend of mine made the seller an offer somewhere in the mid $40s. He said it was a nice car, but definitely wasn’t “original.” I think back then, it might have even had a Holley on it. I always wondered what happened to it.
