Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

That Buick/Opel dealer brings back memories of when most imports were small and sold through domestic dealers. Vauxhalls, Simcas, Renaults, Cortinas and Peugots were quite prevalent on the streets.

I remember the original Bauer at Route83 and Harlem with a big curved showroom facing the intersection with a giant curved glass faade. ws

You got your Buick dealers mixed up there Bill. The dealership that was on 83 and Harlem was built brand new as Crown Buick. It later turned into Rizza Buick. My cousin Tony was once the general manager there. Pretty cool round, all glass showroom they had. It's now an empty,weed-filled lot. :spank:

AH HA!!! Me thinkst thou is correct! LOL... Those days were many "mass consumptions" ago Nick! There was also a Bauer Buick in LaGrange. What was the one in Berwyn at Ogden and Oak Park Av.? Saw my first GSX in Apollo white there. It was love ever after from there! ws

The one on Ogden was Sviteck (sp) Buick and the one in LaGrange was Bower Buick.

My memory is faaaaaaailng! My old man bought his Buicks in LaGrange (I went LT right across the tracks!) and also at the "old" Bill Stillwell in Downers Grove. The old place was on Main just south of Curtiss with an elevator for the cars being detailed for new deliveries done on the second floor. They moved to Ogden in DG around 1968. That's where my brother took delivery on his new '70 455/4 sped car that I bought from him in about '72. We had a friend (salesman) at Svitek that could never match the deals. Wasn't Svitek called something else in the 60's?

Where was that other Bower pic taken? I dont recognize that one. Then there was Schudder (Skudder) Buick on Grand Ave in Elmhurst (?). ws

I will pick it up again Monday...everyone have a good weekend. Love photo 5 with the well worn and dirty cars in front of the run down shops.

Your car was sold from a different building. When I got my 69 GS they had moved to their new building . It was a real modern and bigger place but lost all the appeal of the old place.

Love 'em! The '65 Fairlane, in pic #2, is like the one I had, and beat the crap out of, in high school.

    Still loving this thread!

Nice to see shots of cars like the ones I used to own in their heyday and in better condition; it's neat seeing so many 60 Buicks! Keep 'em coming, appreciate the work you put into this!
